CELTICFEST
Saturday Evening 2pm until 10pm
On Saturday, get ready to party! Enjoy the Craic with headline 'kick-arse' Irish band, The Gathering, on the main stage supported by Highlander Celtic Rock Band and more. The Gathering have a huge following at Irish haunts such as Irish Murphy's in Brisbane and Finn McCool's at the Coast.
Cheer on the battling knights in the Medieval Village and visit each of the reenactment encampments.
Join in the Ceilidh (Celtic bush dance) in The Pavilion with a dance caller and live music – don’t need to know anything to join in – learn as you go.
Get to meet some local Highland Coos before they go to bed at dusk.
Feast on an array of dinner options and wash them down with a Celtic beverage or two.
Sunday 9am until 4pm
Then, on Sunday, watch brawny men and women tossing the caber at the National Highland Games Competition, thrill to the skirl of the bagpipes and take in the graceful performances of Highland and Irish dancers. Soak up the atmosphere of the Medieval Village and stroll through Celtic-themed markets, where artisans will display their wares. View displays of lost trades, such as tinsmithing, and Celtic creatures, including Highland cows. The clans and genealogists will also gather. There’ll be plenty to eat and drink, with some delicious Celtic food on offer including Haggis, Guinness pies and of course Guinness on tap.
